I am recently returned from an incredible tour of Egypt with Jacqueline Hague and her work with Ancient story magic, connecting with the Egyptian goddesses and gods, the Neteru.
Our first visit was to Dendara, a Temple dedicated to the Goddess Hathor, goddess of many things: love, beauty, music, dancing, fertility, and pleasure. As we approached we sang her mantra, playing the priestess ritual instrument of the Sistrum. Setting our intentions for our visit and asking her to weave with us, I entered a spiritual state and space that is difficult for me to describe and a state I think I was in for the duration of the trip!
Going inside the Temples, working with many of the archetypes, particularly Seshat, the goddess of writing, astronomy and astrology, who literally stood out from the walls to me… Seshat quickly became my homegirl! She is depicted wearing leopard print and is also considered to be the Queen of Cannabis, due to the plant in her headdress.
As I connected with her image in Temples, my intuition and connection to the Egyptian mysteries grew. The Egyptians saw writing as a form of magic, and Seshat, divine consort to Thoth, was the one who presided over this magic and well as being responsible for designing the Temples with Thoth.
Seshat was the essence of cosmic intuition, creating the geometry of the heavens alongside Thoth.
In the Temple Habu, there are several carvings of Seshat, and I had time to sit with her and connect with her energy, here’s what came through…
Storyteller scribes,
Come together and unite.
Share your words,
And your prayers,
Unite for humanity,
Using love and levity.
Bring together wisdoms,
Tell us of your dreams,
Share them for those,
With eyes to see.
Scribe for your sisters,
Scribe for your brothers,
Scribe together,
For One Another.
Let not the stories,
Be forgotten.
Let not the truths,
Be forever hidden.
We came from the stars,
With stories to tell,
Tune into us now,
Dive into our cosmic well.
We have gifts,
Ready to share,
Connect with us now.
Rebuild our Temples,
We will be forever grateful.
What I received from this message and from the stories on the walls of the Temples themselves, which felt like they were downloading into my auric field with every encounter… The hieroglyphs which adorned the walls of the temples and tombs, told me how important it is for us share our stories, which in these times, the modern day Seshat, would be scribing through social media and creating digital Temple spaces.
Writing was considered one of the highest professions in ancient Egypt, yet today the written word is often overlooked on platforms like Instagram and TikTok, in favour of short form videos. There is nothing wrong with sharing in modern mediums, and I am seeing a surge of popular song writers, poets and lyrical storytellers in these spaces, which feels great. However, I also feel sharing in long form on places like Substack, using words and images, is important, particularly if we wish to share at a slower, more long lasting pace and not just in 90 seconds, with a 24 hour super speedy life cycle, which is imho melting our brains.
The stories and magic of ancient Egypt and the Neteru have remained carved into stone for thousands of years. This feels like a call to be intentional with what we share online, on the walls and timelines of our digital spaces, to spend more time offline, as we rebalance and immerse ourselves into physical and magical plains of existance. Using scribing as a skill, as a spiritual practice, to share our findings and our musings online in careful and considered ways. Using it to connect to our stories, to connect to our ancestors, to connect with our present day online communities and to connect with future generations across time and space.
When we reached Philae and the Temple of Isis, the Goddess of healing and magic, we were given the question, which soon became a mantra that I repeated / rapped as I walked around this Temple space…
What is my magic? What is my heka?
Here’s an excerpt of what Isis shared with me…
I will finish this moon-letter here…
Allowing her words to connect with you too…
Look within
To look without.
Tune into your inner heart
Your inner wisdom
And guidance
That sits in the centre point.
Let the cosmic codes download
By sitting more in silence.
Allow words to flow
Rhythms to form
Transmissions to
Beam from your heart
They will contain the codes
You have been collecting.
Create moments of serenity,
peace, contemplation and connection.
Clearing the spells,
the dark magic of the black box.
Listen and you will hear us.
Disconnect to connect.
Receive the magic.
Receive the blessings.
Receive the transformation.
Reading your words resonates powerfully. I'm so happy that you have shared your experience through your words.
I truly felt that this post was a transmission and I feel so activated from reading and receiving it! I can not wait to go to Egypt one day! Thank you for bringing the blessings back and sharing them with us here. 💗💗💗
