Embracing a Structured Approach to Social Media
To help keep you consistent and avoid the overwhelm
This morning I was teaching a group of breath-work students and something that I shared in the session was the importance of structure for maintaining our wellbeing and following a strategy when we are communicating and connecting online around our business and offerings.
With today being the Full Moon in Gemini, the Beaver Moon, reminding us of the importance of clear communication, whilst at the same time using the energy of the Beaver to build, to build your own life and trust that you can do anything, including showing up consistently and strategically with your communications on social media to support you and your business - I thought this would be a good topic to share with you in this months moon-letter.
In the ever-evolving landscape of social media, finding a golden thread between your creativity, your strategy and structure is a key. It's not just about posting on the daily; it's about crafting a presence that resonates with your energy, that nurtures your wellbeing and that creates awareness to the things you are passionate about and the things you want to offer to others out there in the world. Be it physically or digitally.
This article explores some of what I shared about how you can maintain consistency in your social media practice whilst setting boundaries, and following a strategy that can honour your time, your energy, your services and offerings.
To thrive in the digital realm, in my experience having a framework that gives structure to your creativity and your communications is super important if we want to show up consistently.
This can be much easier said than done.
I have outed myself on this topic many times before, that I am brilliant at helping my clients to do this, or doing it for my clients, but when it comes to my own social media, I often procrastinate or self sabotage (but that’s a whole other article!)
So the information, the medicine and strategy I share here - I know this works when applied and it’s what I often need to hear myself, time and time again, because what I see is how a well-planned content strategy WORKS! It prevents the all-too-common social media yo-yo effect, where inconsistency leads to stress and undoubtably social media underperforming for your business.
A framework gives structure and strength
To connect people on the same wavelength
It ends the inconsistent yo yo
That makes content so-so
Allowing the feminine to flow
With the creative spirit of a rainbow.
Frequency and Frequency
We start by identifying your ideal posting frequency and choosing your key content types, where you can create a foundation that allows your authentic voice to shine through without overwhelming you or your audience.
Frequencies and Frameworks
What energy does your content contain?
How is your energy when you create?
How often are you reaching out to your audience?
If you're posting sporadically, without a clear strategy, you risk falling off track and feeling frustrated when you create content. A framework not only fosters consistency but also ensures strategic messaging and content variety. This approach really can relieve stress, allowing your creative spirit and messaging to flourish within a structured space.
A Strategic Content Triangle
Having just got back from a trip to Bermuda and it’s famous triangle, I wanted to share with you a ‘Strategic Content Triangle’ a way of planning out content that I have been sharing with clients over the past fews months - where the sacred geometry of the triangle balances creativity, connection, and mindful marketing.
The mysticism of the the triangle allows you to categorise your content in a way that aligns with your higher purpose, divides your content into three main categories, and creates foundations that each serve a unique purpose:
Corner One: Connection and Reach: Share stories, quotes, and experiences that resonate with your audience. Educate and inspire without directly promoting your services. This corner, the top of the triangle, is all about about building relationships and expanding your reach. You want people to like, save and share these posts. Lean into point of view posts, identify with your people and have them identify with you. This is where we make friends, where we connect and serve through our content.
Corner Two: Product/Service Promotion: Clearly communicate what you offer. Use this space to showcase your products or services, giving your audience insight into your work. Make this aspect of your social media clean and clear, sharing your work and explaining how people can work with you.
Corner Three: Community & Loyalty: Highlight testimonials, collaborations, and the successes within your client base and your community. This corner focuses on building trust and showcasing the impact of your work.
Balancing the corners of the triangle ensures a varied social media presence that will help you meet your goals both in terms of connection and reach and in terms of marketing.
For beginners, a heavier focus on the top Corner One is advisable, as you will be looking to build your social media presence before you sell your services, gradually incorporating Corners Two and Three.
I asked ChatGPT to create an image to help visualise the Triangle (it’s not yet perfect at words in images but this gives a nice feel / idea!!)
Adopting a structured, strategic approach for your social media doesn’t have to be daunting or lack creativity or soul! Plus it can absolutely transform your online presence, when you are consistently resonating with authenticity and purpose.
