Absolutely. I've (almost) just finished writing a trilogy, and when I look at how much I've done, I look back on the times where I berated myself for not getting much done. I could spend a whole day bashing my head, or go for a walk in the botanic gardens, refresh my soul, and write a whole day's worth in an hour or two when Spirit moves me. That's how I move, in flow, with ebbs and tides, there are also dry spots. That's why 9-5 at an office desk for creatives doesn't work. Sometimes it's a 3am find the glasses and ipad situation. I love it though, it makes life more interesting, and it certainly is a way to step out of the rat-race, the machine, the enslavement of the 9-5. There's a great title for an article. I'll write it someday, after it peculates and distills, alchemises and is ready to spill forth. If it's done too early, it won't be as good. If we respect our own processes, respect the processes of others, then perhaps that respect for the seasons and cycles, which is missing, will come back into the consciousness as something that is required.
